Bayshore Home Care wishes you all a wonderful holiday season! As we look back over this year, we are increasingly grateful for the opportunities we have had to impact our community in so many ways. Throughout the year we have been spreading warmth and care to our patients as well as the community. Take a look what makes up this incredible team and what we have been up to in 2014…
Spring 2014
Information Givers: Bayshore launched Inside the Huddle newsletter. This newsletter strives to provide valuable insight for professionals in the senior healthcare industry as well as inform families who may have found themselves caring for an elderly loved one.
Community Leaders: We brought the National Pay It Forward Campaign to Tampa Bay: We began spreading the word about this movement through our workforce of over 300. We handed out pay it forward bracelets to our staff of caregivers and that was all that was needed to inspire great waves of kindness throughout the Bay Area.
Senior Care Providers: We celebrated 28 years in business. Since 1986 we have grown to service 3 counties of Tampa Bay and provide an unmatched spectrum of quality home care from Private Duty Home Health Aide Assistance, to Medication Management, Client Advocacy and Nursing Case Management.
SUMMER 2014
Advocates: This spring Bayshore welcomed Bri Griggs to the Bayshore family and launched a new service known as Client Advocacy. As our Client Advocate, Bri helps to meet our clients’ needs and to ensure they thrive at home. She helps to coordinate additional care services, organize the purchase of needed medical equipment and inform our clients and their family members of beneficial community resources leaving no need unmet.
Volunteers: Our Admissions Nurse, Sharon Z. Lena, RN participated in the 12th Annual Honor Flight of West Central Florida (HFWCF). HFWCF provides all expense paid flights for World War II Veterans in the Tampa Bay area to visit their memorial in Washington, D.C. Sharon Volunteered her time to personally escort a Veteran and show her appreciation for those who have given so much for our freedom.
FALL 2014
Trainers: We hosted several Alzheimer’s and Dementia training sessions for our staff as well as other professionals in Tampa Bay. Our presenter was Gary LeBlanc, a global advocate for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients whose personal experience as a caregiver has given him a platform to educate others about Alzheimer’s and dementia care worldwide. Bayshore also has become a founding partner in the Alzheimer’s/Dementia Hospital Wristband Project.
Educators: Bayshore launched Two- Minute Tips, A video series for family caregivers that walks them through the basics of how to choose the right options for their senior loved ones. This series is presented by our Senior Care Information Specialist, Breque Bonner. See our library of Two-Minute tips here.
Visionaries: This year we also customized our services more than ever by offering two new one-of-a-kind programs aimed at providing seniors with greater opportunities for independence with giving their family members peace of mind. Our Safe Harbor packages and Elite Independence programs offer just that.
WINTER 2014
Fur Therapists: Bayshore has two special pups that spread joy to seniors in our Tampa Bay. Tucker and Sadie visit with seniors and share their unconditional love with all. Keep an eye out for our pet therapy dogs at a hospital or nursing center near you!
Encouragers: This year we have developed and a way of formally recognizing other professionals in our industry who exemplify quality care and commitment to going above the call of duty for seniors and their families in Tampa Bay. This award is called: A Heart for Seniors. Continue reading our newsletter to find out this year’s award winners.
